For those of you familiar with the East Bay and our little funky town of Warren, Rhode Island, you might already be familiar with The Cheese Plate: located on Water Street in a historic brick building near the waterfront, they’ve been offering delicious cheeses from around the world (paired with great wines and beers) for the last several years. What you may not know, however, is that The Cheese Plate has new, fabulous owners, a sharp and modern new look, and a fantastic expanded menu. Seriously, if you haven’t been, call up a friend and get down there!
They’d be a great choice for a unique rehearsal dinner or a place to send out-of-town guests; or, pre-order cheese plates for your next party! The menu includes charcuterie, pates, quiches, salads, and recently some new delicious sandwiches… plus, they added a scrumptious list of locally made desserts (the warm pear and almond tart, served with crumbles of blue cheese, is already kind of a cult favorite).
The Cheese Plate will be at Rhody Wed with samples (hooray!) and information on their cheese plates to go, and hosting private parties. Stop by and say hi. Not that you’ll be able to resist, anyway…
(As an added bonus, The Cheese Plate just dropped off $5 off coupons [good towards any cheese plate] that we’ll be including in the Rhody Wed goody bags. Their special raffle prize is a $100 gift certificate… this raffle is starting to get ridiculous, by the way…)
Today, we’re welcoming another Warren based photographer into the fold… the lovely Michelle of Dimery Photography! Her gorgeous work ranges from weddings, kids, and babies, to maternity and — our favorite, especially for the newly engaged or newly married — boudoir.
Give yourself a few minutes to wander on over to her site and check out her portfolio… we guarantee her hip, funky, lush, romantic, sexy shots will take your breath away. And just to add icing to the cake, Michelle is giving out $20 gift certificates in each of our Rhody Wed goody bags (the first 100 tickets holders get one of these babies… if you don’t have tickets yet, get them now!) and a whopping $150 gift certificate for our big raffle. Thank you, Michelle!
Be sure to stop by and chat with her at Rhody Wed. Only one week and one day away! Not that we’re counting…
Three new vendors up today! First of all, we’ve got Cate Marshall of “Coastal Cate,” a Rhode Island-based Etsy seller who makes nautically inspired home decor and personal accessories, like these cute clutches.
Visit her Etsy site to see more of her creations, and keep her in mind for bridesmaids’s gifts and accessories!
One of the first vendors we contacted when we started up Rhody Wed was Sin Desserts from Providence, RI — just one bite of their creations and we were hooked. Whether you’re going for a traditional, multi-tiered wedding cake, a cupcake tower, or something customized and funky, the team at Sin can take care of you. Wickedly.
From their website: “Desserts today have too much of a good thing, mainly too much sugar, which masks the true flavors. Sin uses just enough to bring out the real flavors. Cakes are moist and chocolaty, frostings are creamy and not too sweet, cheesecakes are infused with flavors, light and delicious.
At Sin, you’ll find a talented and friendly staff waiting to help you design the perfect cake. Whether it’s a custom wedding cake, birthday cake, grooms cake or cupcakes, your cake will be beautiful and tasty. Sin also has a line of gluten free cakes, vegan cakes and eggless cakes for your special dietary needs.
Sin is based in Providence, but delivers to Rhode Island, southern Massachusetts, the Cape and Boston.”
Visit their table at Rhody Wed and until then, read more about their vision and creations at http://www.eatwicked.com
